Laws/Regulations Overview
NEW! Child Safety
Seat Regulations:
Now effective as of
January 1st, 2007 is a law regarding safety booster seats and
children age’s 4-8 years.
The person(s)
operating the motor vehicle should see to a child 4 years or older, but
less than 8 years being secured in a child safety seat or a booster seat
that meets federal motor vehicle safety standards at the time of its
manufacture.
THE EXCEPTION, The
driver is exempt from having the child between 4-8 years if the child is
restrained by proper seat belt assembly and is:
1)
Over four feet and nine inches in height, or
2)
Over forty pounds and travelling in a vehicle only equipped with lap
belts, without shoulder straps, in the back seat.
NEW! Clean
Environment Policy-Smoking Ban:
Now effective as of
November 16th, 2006 is a law prohibiting smoking in the
following areas-
1)
Enclosed and partially enclosed public or state owned areas such as
malls, restaurants, airports, and bowling alleys.
2)
Within 20 of doorways and windows to public or state owned
buildings/establishments.

Liquid/Gel/Aerosols Allowed in Carry on Luggage:

Travel size toiletries (3.4 oz or smaller) are allowed in carry on
luggage that can fit in one quart-size, clear plastic, zip-lock bag. This
bag must be completely sealed and submitted for inspection separately from
other carry-on baggage.

Passengers may also carry with them in a sealed 1-quart clear
plastic bag, but must declare to TSA at the screening checkpoint: Baby
formula, milk, breast milk, or baby food if a baby or small child is
traveling with them; medications (liquid, gel, aerosol); and/or liquids
(including juice) or gels for diabetic or other medical needs.

All other liquids, gels, or aerosols must be packed in checked
luggage.
Other Luggage
Requirements/Restrictions:
Luggage allowed per
person on flights is as follows.

Two checked bags, no larger than 62 in (length + width + height) and
50 pounds each.
-
One carry on item (not including a personal item such as a purse or
briefcase), no larger than 45 in (length + width + height) and 40 pounds.

Reconfirming Flights:
Please reconfirm your flights with the airline 24
hours prior to departure for any last minute schedule changes.
Airport Check In:
The airlines as that you check in for your flight to
Hawaii no later than 2 hours prior to departure. Passengers checking
in late may be denied boarding.
Please note that if you plan to claim mileage
points, you need to do so at the time of check-in with the airline you are
traveling with. Please make a copy of your airline ticket for your records.
We cannot provide ticket numbers after you have traveled.
Picking Up Your
Rental Car:
Your rental car will
be available for pick up at the airport (unless otherwise noted).
Cancellation and
Change Fees:
There is a $25 change
fee to cancel or change your rental car reservations. Minimum car rentals
required for purchase of airline tickets and partially used vouchers are
non-refundable.
Hotel cancellation
fees vary from hotel to hotel.
To change or cancel
your airline tickets, there is a $200.00 per ticket fee for our
regular low wholesale fares for most airlines. Some special fares,
different from our regular wholesale fares, and non-refundable. Airline
reservations must be cancelled prior to departure to qualify for any
refund. If you cannot reach Hawaii on Sale, Please cancel directly
with the airline.
Seat Assignments:
Please note that we
may not have been able to make seat assignments for you. To make sure you
get the seating you want, please contact the airlines directly. When you
call the relevant airline, please be prepared to give them the date of your
first flight, the flight number, and the names of the travelers.
Pets Traveling to
Hawaii:
Hawaii is
a rabies free state and state law requires 120-day quarantine for dogs/cats
to protect residents and local pets and animals. The quarantine days can be
reduced to five days or less if specific qualifications are met (see
http://www.hawaiiag.org/hdoa/ai_aqs_info.htm). In correlation
with this law the following is prohibited:

No carry-on pets are allowed to/from Hawaii. Pets may travel through
checked baggage only.

All pet arrivals/connections must be in/through Honolulu Airport.
There are no transit or quarantine facilities in any other Hawaiian
location.

Considering the above, no pets will be accepted on non-stop flights
to Kauai, Maui, or the Big Island.

Pregnant animals past 45 days of gestation will not be
permitted.
