POLYNESIAN FESTIVAL

The Kamanawa Foundation presents its 7th
annual Kauai Polynesian Festival on Memorial Day weekend 2007. The
Kauai Polynesian Festival kicks off with a Polynesian Grand Luau on May
24 at the Hilton Kauai Beach Resort. The Festival follows on May 25-27
at the Vidinha Stadium soccer field featuring Tahitian, Maori, Samoan
and Hawaiian entertainment, Polynesian arts and crafts, solo and group
dance competitions, food booths, workshops, and much more. All Kauai
residents and visitors are welcome to attend.

ALOHA FESTIVALS KAUAI
The beautiful Garden Island
of Kaua'i hosts their annual Aloha Festivals with a multitude of
cultural events, activities and programs. It's a great opportunity to
learn more about our Hawaiian culture while having a lot of fun. Most

KUHIO BEACH NIGHTLY HULA SHOW AND TORCH
LIGHTING
Kuhio Beach, Waikiki
Nightly, 6:30pm
One of the most famous (and free!) hula
shows on the island is held right on Waikiki Beach near the Prince
Kuhio statue, at sunset. A lovely variety of dances by little hula
girls and Hawaiian music accompany a torch lighting ceremony on the
beach.

WAIKIKI’S FRIDAY NIGHT FIREWORKS

Every Friday night, fireworks can be
seen in Waikiki soaring high above the water. They are part of a hula
show at the Hilton Hawaiian Village Hotel, but can also be seen from
the Ilikai Hotel, and the entire portion of the beach that is near
those hotels. A great free activity for the whole family, these
fireworks can be the perfect end to the day.

CHINATOWN FIRST
FRIDAY FESTIVAL AND ART WALK

Fridays 5pm-9pm
On the first Friday of every month,
Chinatown is transformed into one big block party where you can
socialize, eat, and be entertained. Originally and foremost an art
gallery display, you can pick up a map and take a self-guided walking
tour of the many different galleries and restaurants playing host to
local art, both visual and performance. Many restaurants have specials,
and there are sometimes additional food booths on the streets. Many
stores stay open late and craft vendors offer you local hand made
items.

One of the biggest carnivals in the
state with E. K. Fernandez shows, midway of rides, game, food & fun!
Live shows presented will be "JUMP" The Ultimate Dog Show, featuring
stunt dogs in action, Watershow Productions' Pirates of the Caribbean
High Dive Show, and Backyard Circus and Family Puppet Parade. A dozen
food booths will be available, highlighting carnival favorites such as
malasadas, and local foods including Korean, Hawaiian, Puerto Rican,
Filipino, Samoan, Japanese and Chinese.

27TH ANNUAL
HAWAII INVITATIONAL INT'L MUSIC FESTIVAL
Concerts and jazz
bands, orchestras, choirs, dancers, drill teams and other pageantry
units from Hawai'i, the mainland and around the world perform in
competition for two weeks in Waikiki. Free concerts at the Kapiolani
Bandstand and Waikiki Shell on April 3 and April 10 starting at 9:00am.
Drum Lines and Winterguards compete at Kamehameha Schools on April 5
and April 13 at 6:00pm in Kekuhaupio Gym. Festival and tour
participation is by invitation only, but admission to all events is
free and visitors are welcomed.

ANNUAL WAIKIKI SPAM JAM

What is Hawaii’s
obsession with Spam all about? You can find out at the Waikiki Spam
Jam, where for one night the streets are closed down and a block party
is held in the honor of this mystery meat. Ten of Oahu’s most popular
restaurants will be serving a variety of great dishes, many of them
with the Spam luncheon meat product in it. The event will also have two
entertainment stages featuring local artists, two Spam-themed
merchandise tents and ten Hawaiian craft vendors. There is no admission
to enter the Waikiki Spam Jam.

FLAVORS OF HONOLULU 2007

The well-known Taste
of Honolulu, a fabulous sampling of the island’s foremost restaurants,
has been renamed and taken over by an organization called Abilities
Unlimited. This three-day foodie festival offers fine foods by over 25
different restaurants in small portions, giving visitors the option to
sample the many different flavors of Hawaii. Also added to this year’s
group of vendors will be booths with garments, woodwork, and anything
else that might represent the cultural diversity of Honolulu. But don’t
worry, the emphasis is still on the cuisine and top chefs will be
featured preparing the Oahu’s best.

BAYFEST 2007
Kaneohe Marine Corps Base Hawaii
18th Annual BayFest 2007 is Windward
Oahu's largest music festival. Located on Marine Corps Base Hawaii, the
public is welcome to enjoy music from Three Days Grace, Alan Jackson,
Gretchen Wilson and various local opening acts. Carnival rides and
games, great food, and military static exhibits are also available each
day. Sign up for contests and competitions, such as the build-your-own
boat Bathtub Regatta or the BodySearch Competition, and end each night
with a spectacular fireworks show over Kaneohe Bay.

booths of unique Hawaii-made products including art, clothing, food,
home furnishings, jewelry, toys, fresh produce, plants, and authentic
Hawaiian handicrafts will be displayed. Free cooking demonstrations and
delicious food samples by Hawaii’s talented chefs and award-winning
entertainment by popular local musicians adds to the festive
atmosphere.

This Festival at Hana
Ballpark will be focusing on Taro, the staple food of Hawaii; featuring
Cultural Demonstrations like poi-pounding, Arts & Crafts, Food Booths,
Info Tent, and continuous entertainment, music and hula, by local
favorite performers. Sunday there will be an annual Taro Pancake
Breakfast (7-10:30 am) at Hana Ballpark, a "Talk Story" Presentation
about Kalo/Taro, and cultural excursions in the early afternoon.

Master Carvers from across the
Pacific come together with Hawaii's carvers to create real canoes &
tikis from wood logs, daily 9am-5pm on Front Street in Lahaina. Demos
of old-style surfboard, drum and thatched house making are also
featured with cultural arts lessons, performances & Polynesian crafts
fair at public locations in Lahaina. On May 26, watch Parade of Canoes
down Front St. then head to Kamehameha Iki beach park for ancient
Hawaiian ceremony & sunset launch of completed canoes, followed by
island food, music and dance festival until 10pm.

MAUI FILM FESTIVAL AT WAILEA

The Maui Film Festival at Wailea
features film premieres at the under-the-stars Dolby-Digital equipped
Celestial Cinema as well as at the Castle Theater at the Maui Arts &
Cultural Center. Special Food and wine events including the Taste of
Wailea & Taste of Chocolates plus Filmmakers Panels and Special
Screenings complete the event.

85TH ANNUAL MAUI COUNTY FAIR
War Memorial Complex, Wailuku
This is the oldest and best fair in
Hawaii. Fair open until midnight with rides, games, exhibits, and
entertainment on the Big Stage day and night. Orchidland is a huge
floral display and there will be Horticulture & Homemakers Exhibits.
The Livestock Tent has paniolo entertainment. There are also Better
Living Tents and Arts & Crafts tents. Huge Food Court with island
specialties prepared by 50 non- profit groups. Tickets are $4 for
adults, and $2 for children ages 5 to 10; 4 years and younger are free.

THE MERRIE MONARCH HULA FESTIVAL
Edith Kanakaole Stadium, Hilo
A weeklong festival of cultural
events including Hawaii's most prestigious hula competition is held at
the Edith Kanaka`ole Stadium. The festival begins with a Ho`olaule'a on
Moku Ola (Coconut Island) on Easter Sunday. On Wednesday there is a
free exhibition night at the stadium that begins at 6:30 pm. Thursday
is the solo Miss Aloha Hula competition, Friday & Saturday are the
group Kahiko (ancient) and Auana (modern) hula competitions. A grand
parade winds through Hilo-town on Saturday morning with arts and craft
fairs around town.

DOLPHIN DAYS AT THE HILTON WAIKOLOA VILLAGE

Dolphin Days is an annual weekend
festival of events inspired by the playful dolphins at the Hilton
Waikoloa Village. This event culminates with its signature event - The
Great Waikoloa Food, Wine & Music Festival. Over two dozen of Hawaii's
most talented chefs will prepare culinary specialties, paired with a
wide selection of fine wines, boutique brews and spirits. World-class
jazz entertainers keep the audience on their feet with an All-Star
